The loss of her daughter, Grace, very suddenly at three years of age, as well as Grace's twin at 17 weeks gestation, became the evolution of discovery on the issues surrounding pregnancy and child loss, and compelled her to help other bereaved families.

A former Reader of Law at the University of Edinburgh, much of Shawn’s work and volunteer activities are inspired by a solidarity with others. He was inspired to help build Gardens of Grace by the loss of his niece, Grace.

Jessica is a Registered Nurse, mother of 3, 1 in heaven and 2 on earth. Vincent was born at 23 weeks gestation due to incompetent cervix and passed 16 minutes after birth in my husband's arms on Sept 4, 2014 He was 1lb 1 oz and perfectly tiny ❤ She is an extreme couponer and thrift store guru, loves a good diy project and spending time with family.

Cheryl joined the board of Gardens
of Grace eight months after incorporation. She had a fulfilling 32 year career as a pediatric nurse at the Isaac Walton Killam Children's Health Center before retiring in 2010. Since one of her hobbies is crafting, she is also a contributer to the Babyloss Crafting group.
Meagan Chaffey
Meagan joined our board in April of 2018. Meagan completed her undergraduate degree in Public Policy Studies, is a pregnancy and infant loss doula, and is pursuing her master's in counselling. Meagan is passionate about supporting bereaved families and helping to establish the peer support network within Gardens of Grace.
